Our Patient Exhibit in Second Life is now open!
Please take a look around you in this city park, and you will notice - in some windows of the skyscrapers you will see a person. These are real people who are affected by the disease, and have agreed to participate in this Patient Exhibit to create awareness.
You should know that most of these people are unable to work and live a normal life because their condition is so severe. We are displaying their previous occupation and other details in the purpose of demonstrating how M.E truly affects anybody, at any time, from anywhere and from all walks of life. The city scene symbolizes the many people who are forced to live an isolated life in their homes all around the world, and can't participate in the active life outside anymore, due to M.E.
Each person has also finished this sentence in their own words: "Living with M.E is..." And it is very telling. I hope you will find this informative.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ You will need a Second Life account to visit - it is free and quick to get one here: https://secondlife.com/
If you are unable to join us in Second Life, all of these patient stories will also be posted on our Facebook page one by one: https://www.facebook.com/forgetMEnotSL ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When you visit us in Second Life, please pick up the Info and the Blue ribbon. It will give you all the information you need about our upcoming events in May - you will also find that we have GIFTS for you to pick up, and raffles & giveaways during our musical events in May. Thank you for spending time with us to raise awareness about this serious disease, M.E (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), during the International M.E Awareness Month! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our heartfelt thanks to all M.E patients who are taking part in this exhibit for awareness. We couldn't do this without you.
Many thanks to all of our sponsors and a special thanks to our sponsor Wareta // 割れた for creating our beautiful mesh logo for Second Life, as can be seen in the video.
